I think its only playing at one cinema though, so it will be hard for me to see it!Andy Bucklehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15655573933693289124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890338907751315894.post-82201635510897395252011-08-05T06:34:15.739+10:002011-08-05T06:34:15.739+10:00Love Crime is worth watching; it's not particu...Love Crime is worth watching; it's not particularly interesting stylistically, but it's plotted quite well and has a Hitchcockian edge to its suspense. Not to mention TWO ice-cold blondes, who play off each other very well.Jandy Stonehttp://www.rowthree.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890338907751315894.post-64720165232574356032011-08-04T17:26:32.797+10:002011-08-04T17:26:32.797+10:00Thanks! I didn't like The Beaver; such an uneven film. A thoughtful examination of depression and a bold role for Gibson (a 'fuck it, lets try anything' role) is underwhelmed by unimaginative direction and ineffective subplots. There are some laughs, sure, but when you are made to feel bad about laughing, it's a little frustrating.Andy Bucklehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15655573933693289124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890338907751315894.post-59685020107103081262011-08-04T07:37:45.272+10:002011-08-04T07:37:45.272+10:00I sort of want to see Rise of the Planet of the Ap...I sort of want to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes just because the reviews are positive (so far 92% on RT). I also need to check out The Beaver but I doubt it's on DVD yet.Castorhttp://www.anomalousmaterial.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890338907751315894.post-1468234478858165612011-08-04T01:02:56.313+10:002011-08-04T01:02:56.313+10:00I don't. The Conspirator was better than The Beaver, actually :-p I'm sure Red Dog will be an enjoyable family flick, but i'm not going to see it. Love Crime is playing only at The Orpeum (which is too much effort), so that leaves only Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which I will check out next week. Off to Melbourne for the tail end of MIFF this weekend!Andy Bucklehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15655573933693289124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890338907751315894.post-83468373335271181372011-08-04T00:52:59.144+10:002011-08-04T00:52:59.144+10:00haha andy i never thought you would put much stock...haha andy i never thought you would put much stock in margaret and david at the movies! surely you;re happy that none of these movies are gonna be as bad as the conspirator? first trailer for palnet of the apes i was semi excited (i was a big fan of the original five movies and especially pierre boulle's novel) next trailer i saw gave away the entire plot and now i am so not fussed i could be the doorman at that club at the end of scott pilgrim vs the worldblahblahblah Tobyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13370451386116555733noreply@blogger.com
