Wish You Were Here has done well...You're right. Wish You Were Here has done well at the indie cinemas - Palace Norton Street in particular, but it was never going to compete with The Avengers. Still, if The Avengers is sold out, maybe filmgoers are looking elsewhere. It is certainly worth the time, and this is not a trend I have recognised in the past. Will keep track of it throughout the year, but unlike something like Mad Bastards, which was actually quite good, it has made some money at BO.Andy Bucklehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15655573933693289124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890338907751315894.post-81592739868119776582012-05-05T13:31:58.656+10:002012-05-05T13:31:58.656+10:00Strange that Aussie films only get a local release...Strange that Aussie films only get a local release when there is a major blockbuster doing the rounds. It is like distributors hold back releases so as not to compete with a blockbuster. So the Aussie films get a run. It is the same in every industry, I guess. Hopefully it gets a release in the States, and is well-received.Andy Bucklehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15655573933693289124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890338907751315894.post-82674568260746832902012-04-30T16:52:24.813+10:002012-04-30T16:52:24.813+10:00Yeah it played at Sundance. Definitely check it out when (if?) it comes your way.Andy Bucklehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15655573933693289124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890338907751315894.post-10241516849978148662012-04-28T17:40:31.531+10:002012-04-28T17:40:31.531+10:00Animal Kingdom, Snowtown and now this. Anyway, hopefully it gets a release here - I still have faith in Australia after Animal Kingdom!Stevee Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12284769251750574447noreply@blogger.com
