R.I.P Dennis Hopper
May 29 2010 marked the death of actor/director Dennis Hopper, a true legend of the entertainment world. Credited with over 200 acting appearances in film and cinema, he became one of the most successful of his generation at portraying screen villains. The highlights of his career have to include Easy Rider (which he directed and received a Golden Palm nomination at the Canne Film Festival for), Francis Ford Copolla's masterpiece, Apocalypse Now (where he played a drug-induced photojournalist) and David Lynch's Blue Velvet (as the terrifying Frank Booth, commonly accepted as one of the greatest villains in cinema history). He also had notable supporting roles in Hoosiers (for which he received an academy award nomination), True Romance and Speed. His death is a tragic loss to cinema and he will forever be remembered for his services to the industry.
