Who do you expect to win these categories? My picks are The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Artist and Rango.

  1. Correction, it's Kevin Tent, not Kevin Trent. He's the person I would pick though my pick would be the five guys who edited The Tree of Life. You gotta give these guys more love for having to deal with millions of feet of film as well as work for two years sporadically and figure out what to cut and what not to cut.

  2. Thank you. I make so many errors, ugh.

Oh, I would pick the team behind THE TREE OF LIFE, but the most impressive of the nominees here were Wall and Baxter for DRAGON TATTOO. I re-watched HUGO today, and though I thought Schoonmaker did a great job, I still think some of the non-linear stories were aided more by fine editing (examples: WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN, TINKER TAILOR, MMMM). And I really think that SENNA deserves to be here. Actually, that's the best edited film of the year.

If I were to select the nominees, I would pick SENNA, THE TREE OF LIFE, WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN, TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY and THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO - but that will never happen, will it?
